Special vehicles can be surprisingly complex. A prime example is the demountable emergency mass contamination and search and rescue units ordered by the UK Government.

The challenge was not only to put a large amount of easily accessible specialist equipment into an ISO container but also to make sure that nothing moved as the containers were loaded on and off vehicles. This is an excellent demonstration of JDC's expertise in stowage being put to good use.

As incidents become more complex and of longer duration, many fire and rescue services are now concerned to provide welfare modules to support the crews involved.

A unit built for Strathclyde FRS included a fully fitted PolyBilt kitchen, plus dining area with television.  The module also had heating/air conditioning and toilet facilities.  Almost a home from home!
