John Dennis Signs Agreement with French Shutter Manufacturer MCD

Guildford-based fire vehicle bodybuilders John Dennis Coachbuilders (JDC) have signed an agency agreement with the French company MCD, manufacturers of aluminium roll-up doors for all types of vehicles.

The MCD shutter concept is based on made-to-measure roll-up doors that are highly adaptable to operators' needs. MCD rolling shutters can be used as closing shutters for compartments, for loading doors or as an access feature in all types of fire and commercial vehicles, as well as airport and military vehicles. They are available in sizes of up to 4 square metres and are traditionally supplied in powder-coated satin grey or anodised aluminium finish. Other colours are available upon request.

Made from light-weight, high quality aluminium materials, MCD shutters are the only such product in the market that can deal well with bends in vehicle structures, thanks to their innovative track.

A very simple replacement for conventional opening doors for fire and rescue vehicles, as well as commercial vehicles, MCD roll-up doors excel by their low obstruction levels, making handling and access easy and safe.

John Dennis Coachbuilders are the sole UK agents for MCD shutters. JDC bought their first MCD shutters in 2006 and were so impressed by their performance that they approached the French manufacturer to discuss agency options. They now offer MCD shutters as standard on all vehicles.  Customers include Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, Avon FRS and Oxfordshire FRS.

Alan McClafferty, MD of JDC, is delighted about the new agency agreement: "I am pleased to get this agency, because the quality of MCD shutters really is significantly higher than anything else available in the market, and adds genuine value to any vehicle.”
